The Taurus difference

A broker sells you a contract.
A consultancy runs your strategy.

The difference is not marketing. It is who pays us, what we are paid for, and whether we are still in the room after the deal is signed.

Energy Brokers

— Transactional
  • Paid by suppliers via commission baked into your tariff
  • Renewal-driven — they only show up at contract end
  • One product: a procurement quote
  • Volume-based incentives, not cost-reduction incentives
  • No accountability after the deal is signed

The commission you cannot see

Broker commission is typically expressed in pence per kWh and folded into the unit rate you are quoted. It does not appear on your invoice as a line item. It is not disclosed unless you ask, and often not even then. And because it scales with volume, the broker is materially better off when you consume more.

Ask your incumbent, in writing, what commission they receive from your supplier and at what rate. The answer — or the absence of one — will tell you most of what you need to know.

Ask the
question.

We will audit your existing arrangement for embedded commission before you commit to anything.
